Jonathan Martin’s article, “GOP Gives Clinton the Silent Treatment” from April 29 at Politico.com discusses critical information for Democrats and Independents who are determined to Beat the Republicans in the general election this fall:
“The apparatus will be ready for both, but the Barack Obama that a lot of Republican strategists looked at four or five months ago was a lot more formidable than the one stumbling through the last few months,” observed Madden. The emergence (and re-emergence) of Obama’s pastor, the candidate’s gaffe about small-town America and his seemingly hardening demographic weaknesses have convinced many in the GOP that he would provide the most vivid opportunities for contrast and caricature.
My question to you is this:
What in the world are the superdelegates doing endorsing Senator Obama NOW when the polls are showing him weakening with Senator Clinton winning against McCain?
Do we want a Democrat in the White House in January or a Republican? A Democrat!! Will the superdelegates “throw” the Primary and we’ll have ANOTHER failed general election like:
2000 Vice President Al Gore- why did he “tie” the popular vote in America, lose his own state of Tennessee and run a disjointed and frankly an idiotic campaign while he ran such a smart campaign with President Clinton during two election cycles? What was he thinking? What was his team thinking? The race was his to loose!
2004 Senator John Kerry – why in the world did the Democratic Party think that Senator Kerry would win the popular vote in the United States after such a stinging loss for Vice President Al Gore to Bush? He ran a cocky campaign that was COMPLETELY out of touch with Americans and the election. His wife was the only breath of fresh air during that whole ordeal we had to endure called the general election 2004.
Is there any way for the undecided superdelegates both elected officials and DNC appointees to look at this election year with a strategy in mind to win?
Yes, we want to be idealistic and vote with our heart BUT in the end don’t we want the Republicans OUT of the White House so that not only the United States can heal but the rest of the world?
My goal is very simple: get out of Iraq: now. Get equal pay (and respect) for women. Get healthcare for all. With McCain in the White House our heroic men and women that serve in our armed forces will again be in peril and will die. We DESERVE to FIGHT for their lives and have a responsibility to do so as Democrats, Independents and any voter who wants to Beat the Republicans.
